The Pain I Don't Want

I know being a slave means you're supposed to serve him, but sometimes lots of times it's Daddy taking care of me. Several weeks ago, I woke up one Saturday morning in major pain. Daddy dumped me in the bathtub and then put me back to bed. He went out and got movies and snacks and we spent the entire day cuddled up in bed.

Sadly this isn't the first time.

I have fibromyalgia. I know lots of women are in the same leaky boat, and all I can really say is that it really really sucks sometimes. I've been suffering from the painful 'flare-ups' off and on for the past eight years and have tried several different drugs along with physical therapy. But either it makes me feel goofy in the head or quits working, so for the most part I manage the pain with ibuprofen and wine.

Most days I'm okay - especially if I mange to eat healthy and exercise, avoid stress, not experience any major weather changes, and not be in those final days leading to my not so favorite time of month. And since starting TTWD though I've discovered another 'fibro management' trick for me. That night a few weeks ago -- he spanked me pretty darn good and I felt worlds better on Sunday.

Unfortunately the aching is back this week and I'm miserable. It's been days of snow and cold and PMS.

Hoping that means lots of spanking tonight....

  1. Oh Aurora I'm sorry! My Daddy was diagnosed with fibro about 2 years ago. It's not that common in men and took quite a while to get a diagnosis. The "flare ups" do suck as do the "fog" days. Spanking seems to help Daddy cope with things too. Just from the other side! Lol. Hope you get the spankings you need tonight.

    1. Thanks P! That sucks your Daddy has it too. It's hard enough as a woman to find a good doctor to help, bet it's a lot worse for him.
Hmmm I was thinking maybe the 'good pain' took my mind off the 'bad pain', but maybe it's the 'stress release' in the spanking that works too.

  2. Sympathies for your condition - it is horrible to have pain for no reason.
You're not alone in finding that spanking is bizarrely helpful. I have another type of chronic pain and I'm drawn to receive pain in one form to vanquish another. As you say though, it is short lived.

    1. Thanks DF! It is bizarre. But whatever works, I guess!

  3. I have very mild fibro. I'm nearly always able to tough through and Im thankful that Advil actually works.

Have you tried taking Trazadone before? It's not a sleeping pill at all but it helps you sleep better. I have no issue falling asleep or staying asleep normally. I just don't cycle through like you're supposed to. This helps me get into the deeper restorative sleep. But if I need to wake up or drive I am ae to do so because it's not a sleeping pill. Every time I stop taking it, the pain starts creeping in again.

Last night I was woken by a loud noise outside and have been up since 4 am. I'm in pain today, mild, but there. For me and many other people taking control of the sleep cycles really wipes out most of the fibro problems.

    1. You are so right about the sleep! About four years ago, I did correct some sleep issues I had and my fibro went from an everyday thing to a monthly/seasonal thing. It's just been bad this week because all my triggers are hitting at once, I think.
So sorry you have it - even if it's mild. Hope you get good sleep tonight!

  4. i'm not saying it's not Fibro, but aspartame toxicity can also cause remarkably similar symptoms. if you take aspartame in any form (diet drinks, sugar replacements etc) it's worth taking a closer look.

n yes, i hope the spanking helps :)

    1. Haven't heard of that one so I shall have to check it out, although I have tried giving up sugar and caffeine in the past with no luck. Aspartame gives me headaches so I avoid it usually anyways.
My fibro always is better when I stay away from all the processed crap.

  5. Sorry to hear that Aurora. I've known some people with Fibro. and it's very tough to deal with.

This is my first time posting here, I think. I believe you started blogging about the same time as me, so that makes us blogging comrades of a sort.

  6. Things that have helped me .... wet heat (take a hot water bottle and place a wet towel on area effective - whole body right? - and put the hot water bottle on top of the towel ... wet heat). I find it's helpful for those aches.

I do hate the fibro fog .. it amuses those around me, when I slur my words or kind of tilt & walk into walls. I can also sleep anywhere when I am in a fog, including the toilet in the bathroom at work . during meetings, on the bus, mid-sentence

    ... good times!
I hope this flare doesn't last too long (try the wet heat & see if helps at all)

    (((hugs))))

    1. Hot water helps me too - which is why I always head straight for the bathtub. I need a hot tub, I think. Lol. I will have to try the hot water bottle trick.

I can walk into walls and slur words even when I'm not in 'fibro fog'. Lol. I'm sort of clutzy. But I do know that tired, sleep anywhere feeling.

      Yes...so much fun. Thanks GK!

  7. My father in law has fibromyalgia, so I am very familiar with the pains at doing day to day things, and the flare ups which really take their toll. Keep your chin up. As you can see from the comments above, you are most definitely not alone.
